Applying for a school place

The Dean Trust is the Admissions Authority for Lord Derby Academy.

Lord Derby Academy is responsible for its own Admissions Policy although the coordination of admissions arrangements into Year 7 is undertaken by Knowsley Local Authority.

Closing date for applications: 31st October 2023.

Appeals

All unsuccessful applicants will have the right to appeal to an Independent Appeals Panel in accordance with the Education Act 1993.

Parents who have been unsuccessful in their application for a place at Lord Derby Academy for Year 7 entry must indicate their wish to appeal and can obtain a form online or directly from Student Services at the Academy.

All appeals must be lodged no later than 31st March 2024. If you lodge an appeal after this date, your appeal application will not be submitted for the first round of the appeals process. Appeals lodged will be heard in June 2024

All appellants will be sent notification of their appeal hearing at least 10 clear school days in advance of the hearing. All appellants will be sent a copy of the school’s case a reasonable time before the date of the hearing.
